This Blog is Alive
It's been a very long time since I've last posted, but for what I would consider a few good reasons! I had a major stroke of bad luck in late January as I was nearing completion of my latest project, NexStar AutoGuider. The motor control board and auxiliary port on my telescope died, so that took a little over 2 months to get repaired (my TV and ultrabook also broke in the same month). Once I got my telescope back, I found out the SD card on my Raspberry Pi was corrupt. Most of my major work was backed up, but small utilities and configurations were lost!
Bucket List Timeout
Frustrated with all my technology going on strike, I decided to take on a life-long bucket list item to complete an Ironman triathlon. This took such a tremendous amount of time to train for that I wasn't able to spend any time on my personal projects. On October 25, I completed the Ironman in Los Cabos, Mexico! Yes, back to what we all care about: observing the sky. I have another post in draft form for setting up a video feed and my (very basic) telescope slewing web application, JsSocks. I'm also going to get back on the horse for NexStar AutoGuider. Stay tuned!
